IELTS Listening Map Labelling-এ অনেকে Audio বুঝেও ভুল Answer দেন। কারণ “opposite”, “just beyond”, “at the far end” বা “turn left” শুনে মানচিত্রে অবস্থান ধরতে সময় লাগে। এই গাইডে Direction Vocabulary, নিজস্ব Practice Map, ১২টি Question এবং Answer Explanation রয়েছে।
IELTS Listening Map Labelling-এ একটি Map বা Floor Plan-এ জায়গার নাম শনাক্ত করতে হয়। অডিওতে Direction, Landmark ও Location সম্পর্কিত তথ্য শোনানো হয়। আগে Map-এর Entrance, Road, North/Left/Right ও Answer Options দেখে নিন; তারপর Direction Word ও Distractor খেয়াল করে শুনুন। Question Instruction-এর Word Limit অবশ্যই মানুন।
Map Labelling কী এবং কোন Skill পরীক্ষা হয়?
Official IELTS Listening-এর একটি প্রশ্ন ধরন হলো Plan/Map/Diagram Labelling। কোনো Building, Campus, Park বা Town-এর Map শুনে সঠিক জায়গা চিহ্নিত করতে হয়। কখনো Options থেকে Letter, কখনো অডিওর শব্দ লিখতে হয়। এই গাইডের Diagram ও প্রশ্নগুলো Original Text-based Practice, Official Audio Test নয়।

এই তিন সারি ও চার কলামের Demo Map-এর সব Location দেখুন। বাম থেকে ডানে ও ওপর থেকে নিচের সম্পর্ক চিনুন। পরীক্ষার বাস্তব Map-এ রাস্তা বাঁক নিতে পারে; এখানে Basic Relation বোঝানোর জন্য সহজ Grid দেওয়া হয়েছে।
নতুন Task শুরু করার আগে ১৫ সেকেন্ড Map Scan করার অভ্যাস করুন: Entrance কোথায়? কোনটি North? কোন Landmark সবচেয়ে সহজে চিনবেন?

শুধু মুখস্থ Direction Word নয়; শব্দটি Map-এ কোন Movement বোঝায় তা অনুশীলন করুন।
Distractor কীভাবে ভুল করায়?
First go towards the café — actually, the reception is on the other side of the fountain.
Speaker প্রথমে Café বললেও নিজেকে সংশোধন করে Reception বোঝাচ্ছেন। শেষের Correction শুনুন।
The café used to be near the main entrance, but it has moved next to the garden.
“used to be” অতীতের Location; বর্তমানে কোথায় সেটিই Answer।
- Speaker-এর “sorry”, “actually”, “instead”, “now” শব্দে খেয়াল রাখুন।
- Left/Right শুনে তাড়াতাড়ি উত্তর দেবেন না—Current Position বুঝুন।
- Audio-তে Correction থাকলে শেষ তথ্যটি যাচাই করুন।
